New Zealand Kauri Amber (Also known as Kauri Gum) for Sale

Kauri gum is the very rare fossilized resin from the New Zealand Kauri Tree. Kauri gum is generally around 30 to 60 thousand years old but can be millions of years old.

Kauri gum can be polished and made into jewelry that releases a heavenly aroma when burnt. Smaller pieces can also be used as incense as it produces a rich sweet aroma when burnt on a charcoal block.

Kauri gum is also popular in China and Asia.


	Kauri gum is extremely rare and hard to come by, even in New Zealand it is hard to get and prices reflect this rarity. We collect all our own gum ourselves when it is washed down after a storm and it takes hours to find just one or two pieces.

Premium cleaned, semi polished -This is butterscotch/marbled semi transparent or clear kauri gum that has been professionally cleaned and one side lightly polished. This is ideal for display pieces, jewelry etc. The price for this grade is $1.30 USD per gram. Contact us to order

Premium Cleaned - This is butterscotch/marbled semi transparent or clear kauri gum that has been wire brush cleaned. This is ideal people who want to polish or carve also for jewelry etc. The price for this grade is $1.20 USD per gram. Contact us to order

Premium rough - This is butterscotch/marbled semi transparent or clear kauri gum that is in its rough natural state. Has oxidization and needs cleaning. This is ideal people who want to polish or carve also for jewelry etc. The price for this grade is $1.10 USD per gram. Contact us to order

Opaque Cleaned - Opaque gum that has been cleaned. This can range from yellow older gum to younger white gum (approx. 8 thousand years old). Large pieces are ideal for display pieces but as it can often be brittle, it is not commonly used for carving $0.40 USD per gram. Contact us to order

Incense or Varnish grade- Smaller pieces or powder that are is too small to be used for jewelry, carving etc. This gum is raw, oxidised and may have be opaque. $0.20 USD per gram (200 dollars a kilogram). Contact us to order
